The WA Division of UNAA commenced in 1949. It has a diverse membership, and undertakes a wide range of activities. UNAAWA receives no financial assistance from government or the United Nations itself.For a list the UNAAWA Branch Executive positions and officers, click here.
Current Divisional Committees
UNAAWA has two Committees: Environment and Human Rights which are organised and run by Convenors. The Committees meet monthly to discuss relevant issues and to plan various activities specific to their issue-area. In recent times the WA Division has undertaken the following activities:
- Held public talks on such themes as social justice, refugees, international law, human rights, and the United Nations itself.
- Observed UN International Days.
- Actively promoted UN International Years.
- Had representation on bodies such as the WA Development Network, the Refugee Council and the Refugee Alliance.
- Produced a monthly newsletter.
- Provided advocacy for Humanitarian Entry Refugees.
