The United Nations Association of Australia and the United Nations Youth Association, with the support of the Australian Federation for University Women, have introduced a Model United Nations program into Western Australian universities. The program is hosted by four universities: Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia and all universities are able to participate. A Model UN simulates the rules of procedure of the UN General Assembly and involves tertiary students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, debating complex global issues from the perspective of selected foreign countries.
